Born in 1983 in Wasseypur, Dhanbad (then part of Bihar), Zeishan Quadri grew up in a modest middle-class family. The youngest of three siblings, with two elder sisters, he was raised by his father, Syed Imran Quadri, who worked in a private firm. Life in the coal-belt town of Dhanbad exposed him to the rugged realities of small-town India, experiences that would later shape his voice as a filmmaker and writer.
Quadri completed his schooling in Dhanbad before moving to Meerut, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Even as a student, his interest in cinema and storytelling was unmistakable.
